Ever since we established our style through the beloved Iron Guerilla, the fat tire HDs that mix the retro lines and modern finishing are always something people love so much from us, so when a customer came to us and want a fat tire HD, as we showed him some of our previous builds like the more retro themed Crowned Stallion and some of the more modern ones with billet wheels and top spec brakes and suspension components, the conversation quickly comes to, “How cool would it be if I can combine these polarizing style?”
“Fat” tires and “wide” tires are never the same, Fat needs more side walls to have that beefy look and the 230-15” Avon we’ve used on Crowned Stallion, which made famous by the amazing Exile Cycles is the beefiest tire without going crazy and hard to ride, to balance the look we choose 200-16” at the front, with the biggest Ohlins FGRT301 to balance the look, to continue the retro vibe, we custom designed the bottom fork legs that takes radial caliper mount from both front and rear of it, so we can have that single disc look with dual discs stopping power. Even the exhausts we designed this 2-1-2 system that’s similar to some drag bike influenced custom but still from the distance I want it to blend into the clean retro look, even the seat we choose to do a solo seat that’s more of a vintage chopper style, but fits with one piece fender/electric cover modified from a Kodlin piece. Than the tank was stock modified to fit the width of the front end. The rest just falls together in the usual Rough Crafts fit and finish.
